Influences

I rarely get influenced by people, but my two biggest influences ever are Kurt Cobain and KoRn.

Kurt Cobain is easily the first person who has had a great impact on my life. I love music. Music is where I go when I'm down, when I'm up, and when I'm just bored to death. The one who got me into music was Kurt. I am into the whole "alternative" music scene and love every bit of it. Do you know how I got there? I discovered Nirvana. Kurt's lyrics opened up a whole new life for me and changed the way I thought about things. People ask, "How can you listen to that noise?" The answer is simple: there's meaning behind the music. Music with no meaning is pointless. Kurt showed me that there could be meaning brought into music. When a lead singer can scream like Kurt could scream, then I know that their music means something to them.

KoRn is my second influence. I know I'm probably gonna get shit on this, but I don't care. KoRn, in my opinion, is the greatest band around today. They have so much talent and so much to offer the musical world. They have changed their music and it's worked (atleast for me). Yes their old stuff was great, but Jonathan Davis said it himself, "You can only sing about one thing for so long before it gets old." That's exactly what he was doing. He was writing about what was going on in his life at that moment. "Issues" is their new album and I love it though noone else is openminded enough to notice the message behind the music. They realized how much they were selling out and changed. In the song "Wake Up", the end of the chorus states: "Let's take the stage and remember what we're playing for." They're getting back to the people that matter....us the fans.
